Night/Wakes

I’m very excited to share my new work with you this week.  This new piece is a flag book titled Night/Wakes.  I made my first flag book about seven years ago.  Although I liked working with the structure, I was never able to find subject matter that was compelling enough for this particular format.  Until now.

I’m starting a new series of works, including both books and mixed media paintings, that focus on the realm of night, darkness, dreams, nightmares, anxieties, obsessive thoughts, unwanted thoughts, and disordered thinking.  Night/Wakes is the first work in this series, and I am deeply connected to this book.  From the initial conception of the idea all the way to the last finished detail, I was excited about this work.  I hope you like it, too.

Absolutely fantastic work, Megan! I am so impressed, these must be lovely to handle and study.

BTW if you want any personal tales of anxiety, I’m your man!
