I’ve really been trying to slow down while making these new pieces. I know “slowing down” sounds simple and cliché, but I’m the type of person who does everything in a mad dash. When I set out to accomplish something, I want to get it done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Turns out, that’s not a great game plan when it comes to creating. I’ve found that if I just sit and look at my work without the intention of painting, I can better clarify my ideas. With this piece, I’ve spent several hours just sitting, looking, and considering. I think my work is better for it.
Holes #6 is the title of the piece I’m currently working on. Last week, I gave you a view of the work in progress, and this week I’m going to do the same thing. My intention was to have the work finished, but looking at it today, I feel like there is more I have to do. I don’t want to rush the process.

Work in progress looks just lovely.
Know what you mean about doing work in a mad dash – am grinding my teeth this morning over work I did last night (acrylic painting) – colours too dark!!! I’m working with a gel that I suspect is darkening the colours. Grrrrr ….But it is may just me 😦
I’m sorry about your color woes. What brand of acrylics/mediums do you prefer to use?
