Animal Vignettes

For the past two weeks I’ve been continuing work on a commissioned book, hence my failing to post new work on this blog last week.  I’m also going to need next week to complete the book, and so I’m afraid this blog will go another week without postings of any new work.

However, this past week I have been gently chided by more than one reader that I shouldn’t neglect my blogging duties.  My readers will not be denied!  To appease the masses, today I am posting a throwback to a project I completed in 2011, a book titled Animal Vignettes.

This book was created for the Sketchbook Project, and now resides in the permanent collection of over 26,000 sketchbooks at the Brooklyn Art Library.  When you sign up to participate in the Sketchbook Project, you get to choose a theme for your book.  The theme I selected was “storybook.”

NEVER underestimate my fondness for depictions of animals doing people things.
