Portrait Practice

Despite having a short week in the studio, it’s been very productive.  I guess I should say I’ve been very productive.  Sorry to say, I did not get my artists’ book bound, but I did finish all the pages.  Here’s some of that work:

Not only have I been productive with my book, I also started off my week with some portrait painting.  Confession time:  I really love painting/drawing/producing my self-portrait.  It’s actually very convenient.  Turns out, I’m pretty much always available.  I’m usually up for it as long as I ask my self really really nicely.  (Only occasionally do I have to use threats.)  This painting is not finished, and truly it’s more of an experiment than anything.

For an extra treat, here is a painting I made for my parents as a Christmas present.  This is a portrait of their little doggie Ollie.  Technically his full name is Oliver Quincy Caldwell.  No joke.

Stayed tuned next week.  My big plans include finishing my artists’ book, beginning another artists’ book, and maybe another self-portrait (of course, I’ll have to see if I’m available).
